Ghana football legend Asamoah Gyan is arguably one of the country’s best ever export in the game but seems to have found a new love in tennis.
The 34-year-old is known to be actively involved in the racket sport and usually trains in a military barracks during his leisure time.
Togolese legend Emmanuel Adebayor who has travelled round Europe to ply his trade for different teams is also quite the tennis lover.
Now both Gyan and Adebayor are set to square off in the court in typical Rafael Nadal-Roger Federer fashion The pair who have tens of career goals in football will try to determine just who is the better one at tennis in a head-to-head.
In an Instagram interview on Insta videos, Adebayor called out his fellow African striker to a challenge in the tennis court.
“It is going to be fire for fire. Who is Asamoah Gyan? I am going to finish him,” he said in an Instagram video. “Asamoah Gyan come out,” he concluded.
Gyan has also responded and dubbed the showdown “clash of African Legends”. “This is the match I have been waiting for. @e_adebayor called me out. Bro, I’m coming for you. Get ready. ‘CLASH OF THE AFRICAN LEGENDS’. Date will be announced” Gyan posted on his Instagram page.
Gyan also tagged the likes of Liverpool forward Mo Salah and former Arsenal man Robin Van Persie as he challenged them to a game as well.
